The Champions League are well underway, but there is still a long way to go. We have had a look at the odds for who will win the coveted trophy.
Liverpool won it last season. They might win it again this season. According to the bookies only one team are bigger favorites than the defending champions. But, to defend a Champions League title is rare. Very rare.
Sure, Real Madrid won it three times in a row before Liverpool took the top spot last season, but we have to go a long way back to find the last double winners: AC Milan won it in the 1988/89 season, and then defended the title in 1989/90. And that was the first since Brian Clough won it with Nottingham Forest in both 1978/79 and 1979/80.
Can Real Madrid take it back?
The short answer to this is no. Real Madrid does not look like a team that will challenge for the biggest trophy in Europe this season. The bookmakers agree, and most are offering 15 times your money if you think Zinedine Zidane can capture the clubs 14th title in the Champions League.
